Overview

The Heat Transfer in Agitated Vessel apparatus allows study of convective heat transfer in a stirred tank, commonly used in chemical process industries. A jacketed vessel with an internal heating coil is agitated by a variable-speed impeller, and heat transfer coefficients are determined at various agitation speeds and fluid temperatures. The unit helps students understand how agitation intensity, fluid properties, and vessel geometry influence the overall heat transfer coefficient.
