Overview
The Force Measurement Apparatus demonstrates the measurement of static and dynamic forces using strain gauge-based load cells and signal conditioning circuits. Known weights are applied to a calibrated load cell, and the amplified output voltage or current signal is measured, allowing students to verify linearity, hysteresis, and repeatability of force sensors. Students understand Wheatstone bridge principles in strain gauge circuits, amplifier gain and offset adjustment, and data display via digital readout or PC. The apparatus is relevant to weighing systems, structural testing, and industrial process measurement where force or weight measurement is critical.
