Humidification & Dehumidification Apparatus
An apparatus to study the psychrometric processes of humidification and dehumidification in air conditioning.
Overview
The Humidification and Dehumidification Apparatus allows students to investigate the addition and removal of moisture from an air stream using heating, cooling, and steam injection in a controlled duct system. Sensors measure dry-bulb temperature, wet-bulb temperature, and relative humidity at inlet and outlet to determine psychrometric changes. Students plot processes on the psychrometric chart, calculate enthalpy change, moisture addition or removal rate, and system performance. The apparatus demonstrates air conditioning processes essential for understanding comfort cooling, industrial drying, and clean room humidity control systems.
