Overview
The Air Conditioner Trainer (Duct Type) simulates a central air handling unit (AHU) in miniature, with a DX cooling coil, electric reheater, humidifier, and fans integrated in an instrumented air duct. Students study the complete air conditioning sequence: cooling and dehumidification on the cooling coil, reheating to desired supply temperature, and controlled delivery to the conditioned space. All psychrometric state points are measured by sensors and plotted on the psychrometric chart by accompanying software. Students calculate cooling load, reheating energy, humidity ratio changes, and system COP for different room load conditions.
