Steam Jet Refrigeration Test Rig
A steam jet refrigeration test rig for performance evaluation of the ejector at different steam pressures and loads.
Overview
The Steam Jet Refrigeration Test Rig enables detailed performance evaluation of the ejector in a steam-driven refrigeration system by varying motive steam pressure, evaporator load, and condenser conditions. Instrumentation at the ejector nozzle, mixing chamber, and diffuser sections allows study of ejector internal flow and performance characteristics. Students determine critical and off-design ejector performance, plot COP versus evaporator temperature and motive pressure, and identify the critical and breakdown points of ejector operation. The rig supports research into waste heat-driven refrigeration and solar cooling systems.
