Computerized Vapour Absorption Refrigeration Trainer
A computerised ammonia-water vapour absorption refrigeration trainer for studying the complete absorption cycle with data acquisition.
Overview
The Computerised Vapour Absorption Refrigeration Trainer is a fully instrumented ammonia-water absorption system with a PC-based data acquisition and control system. The trainer includes a generator (desorber), condenser, evaporator, absorber, solution heat exchanger, and pump, with sensors at every key state point in both the refrigerant and solution circuits. Students can adjust heat input to the generator, cooling water flow rates, and evaporator load, and observe real-time changes in COP, temperatures, and pressures. The computerised interface automatically calculates COP, heat of absorption, and refrigerating capacity, providing a comprehensive research and teaching platform for absorption refrigeration.
