Computerized Mechanical Heat Pump Test Rig
A computerised mechanical heat pump test rig for automated data acquisition and real-time COP analysis in both modes.
Overview
The Computerised Mechanical Heat Pump Test Rig provides a fully automated data acquisition platform for studying vapour compression heat pump performance in heating and cooling modes. A PC-based control system records all state point temperatures, pressures, flow rates, and power consumption continuously, and calculates heating and cooling COP in real time. Students can vary heat source temperature, heat sink temperature, and compressor speed (if variable speed drive is included), and study how these parameters affect system COP and capacity. The computerised interface enables rapid generation of performance maps suitable for design and optimisation studies.
