Computerized Refrigeration Circuit with Variable Load
A computerised refrigeration test rig with variable load simulator for studying part-load performance and efficiency.
Overview
The Computerised Refrigeration Circuit with Variable Load is an instrumented vapour compression refrigeration system where the evaporator cooling load can be varied continuously from zero to full rated capacity using a step-controlled or continuously variable electric heater. The PC-based data acquisition system records all operating parameters at each load level. Students study part-load performance, determine seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER) at multiple load points, and investigate cycling behaviour, thermostat control, and compressor on-off patterns. The variable load capability makes this rig particularly useful for studying energy efficiency of refrigeration systems under realistic variable demand conditions.
