Overview

The Recirculating Type Air Conditioning Trainer circulates a fixed volume of air through a closed duct loop where it passes through a cooling coil, heating element, humidifier, and fan, simulating the recirculation mode of a central air conditioning system. Psychrometric sensors at each section measure air condition changes at every stage of the conditioning process. Students plot the complete air conditioning cycle on the psychrometric chart, calculate sensible and latent heat loads, and study the effect of recirculation ratio on indoor air quality and energy consumption. The trainer provides understanding of HVAC system design for commercial buildings and industrial environments.
