Slip & Creep Measurement Apparatus

AEC-TML-010

A belt drive slip and creep apparatus for measuring slip percentage and power transmission efficiency in belt drives.

#BeltDrive#SlipAndCreep#PowerTransmission#VelocityRatio
Calibration cert included 48-hr quote

Overview

The Slip and Creep Measurement Apparatus consists of a belt drive arrangement with driver and driven pulleys of different sizes, connected by a flat or V-belt. Tachometers measure the actual rotational speeds of both driver and driven pulleys, enabling calculation of actual velocity ratio and comparison with theoretical ratio to determine slip percentage. Students determine belt slip, creep angle, power transmitted, and efficiency under different tension ratios and loads. Creep is measured by comparing peripheral velocities to validate the elastic creep theory. The apparatus is fundamental to understanding practical belt drive design and the performance limitations of flexible power transmission systems.
